Over 700 believers assembled in Lavi Forest on October 19, 2007 for the annual meeting of “One Flock,” a gathering of believers from both Arab Christian and Messianic Jewish congregations. Rev. Hatem Jeryis from Maranatha Baptist Church in Rama served as Master of Ceremony and began the service by quoting from Eph. 2:13: But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. Following this, two representatives offered prayer: Anis Barhoum from “House of Light” in Shafamer and Daniel Yahav, the senior elder of Paniel Messianic Congregation in Tiberias.
The message was given by Daniel Sebbag and translated by Azar Ajaj. He spoke about the life of Gideon and used scriptural reference from Judges 6. After the message, there was a time of prayer where the family of the Christian martyr Rami Ayyad from Gaza Baptist Church was remembered, and two Messianic congregations in Arad and Beersheva were mentioned for prayer, as they face persecution from many Jewish religious groups on a regular basis.
A fellow believer from the United States, Rolly Washington, spoke about the reconciliation ministry he led between white and black men and women in the USA and how God is leading him into a similar ministry between Jews and Gentiles. At the close of the meeting, the leaders gathered to pray for the people and the people prayed in return for the wisdom of the leaders. Afterward, everyone joined for a potluck meal and enjoyed a time of food and fellowship together.
